Our client, a manufacturer specialized in the design and production of custom technical solutions, wishes to add a Mechanical Designer to their team specialized in noise control and industrial soundproofing.
Your ability to design, understand manufacturing, and find technical solutions will be at the heart of your role.
Your Role
You will participate in the design of custom acoustic solutions intended for various industrial and commercial environments.
Based on client needs, project constraints, and information from the project management team, you will develop solutions that can be efficiently manufactured and installed.
Your Main Responsibilities
Design and model equipment and assemblies using SolidWorks;
Produce the necessary manufacturing and assembly drawings for production;
Participate in the development of noise control and soundproofing solutions;
Adapt concepts based on mechanical, architectural, and installation constraints;
Perform detailed planning of various components and assemblies;
Validate dimensions, interfaces, clearances, and technical constraints;
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering, production, and installation teams;
Participate in solving technical problems during design and manufacturing;
Make modifications to drawings and concepts as required;
Ensure that proposed solutions are realistic, manufacturable, and suited to project needs;
Contribute to improving design methods and standardizing certain products and components.
The Desired Profile
We are mainly looking for someone who has:
A good mastery of SolidWorks;
A good ability to read, understand, and produce technical drawings;
An understanding of mechanical assemblies and manufacturing realities;
Good skills in 3D visualization and problem-solving;
A practical and solution-oriented approach;
The ability to work on multiple custom projects;
Good autonomy while appreciating multidisciplinary work.
Interesting Assets
Knowledge of Revit;
Experience in a manufacturing environment;
Experience with sheet metal, metal structures, or mechanical assemblies;
Experience in custom product design;
Knowledge in building, architecture, or building envelope;
Experience in the acoustic field or noise control.
Why This Position?
You will have the opportunity to work on projects that go beyond the traditional scope of mechanical design.
Each project has its own constraints: dimensions, existing building, equipment, access, acoustic performance, manufacturing, and installation.
You will join an organization recognized for its technical expertise, where designers work directly with project, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop concrete and customized solutions.
Do you enjoy understanding how things are made as much as designing them?
We would love to meet you!
